Kirk Grothe

Chief Executive Officer, Livanta

Kirk Grothe, as CEO, provides Livanta with strategic vision and guides the firm's overall direction. Mr. Grothe earned an M.S. in Applied Information Technology from Towson University, an M.P.A. from the University of Baltimore, and a B.A. from York College of Pennsylvania. He is a former Presidential Management Intern (PMI) and Fellow at the Schaefer Center for Public Policy.

Mr. Grothe began his career in multi-specialty group physician practice management. Following that, he was a regulator and managed care specialist for the Healthcare Financing Administration (HCFA). As an entrepreneur, he founded two information technology companies. Later, he was the CIO for a state human services agency. Mr. Grothe has held solution development and senior director-level positions with IBM and Keane and spent several years at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), implementing healthcare reform. In that capacity, he managed multiple divisions and was a Deputy Group and Acting Group Director. Prior to joining Livanta, Mr. Grothe served as Vice President for Truven Health Analytics. Mr. Grothe is a veteran of the United States Army.
