Presentation Title: CMMI Maturity Level 5 Strategies that yield improved readiness while reducing cost.
Presentation Summary: The government contracting process can be overwhelming and major portions of the process require input from executives responsible for profit and loss who are already fully tasked. For example Asjad, Kulkarni, and Gandhi (2015) studied Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), depending on how the contract is structured to address operational availability, corrective maintenance, penalties, spare parts and other resources, they found that there are 728 contract alternatives! Reliance on metrics and quantitative management is likely to increase; the government has few, if any, means of validating if these requirements can be fully met prior to awarding a contract.
