This five-day course prepares participants to become SCAMPI Lead Appraisers by introducing participants to the concepts and details of the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) method. The SCAMPI method is used to appraise all CMMI models. After attending the course, participants will qualify as Candidate SCAMPI Lead Appraisers or Candidate SCAMPI B &C Team Leaders in any of the CMMI models (Acquisition, Development, or Services).

The SCAMPI method is a diagnostic tool that supports, enables, and encourages an organization's commitment to process improvement. The method helps organizations gain insight into their process capability or organizational maturity by identifying process strengths and weaknesses as related to the practices of one or more appraisal reference models (e.g., CMMI). The SCAMPI method can also support other reference models.

This course enables participants to:

  • practice the skills and abilities critical to success as a SCAMPI Lead Appraiser for CMMI for Acquisition, CMMI for Development, or CMMI for Services
  • build proficiency with the methods used by SCAMPI Lead Appraisers

Successful completion of the SCAMPI Lead Appraiser Training course is a step in the certification path for SCAMPI Lead Appraisers as well as SCAMPI B & C Team Leaders for all CMMI models.

Please see the SCAMPI Lead Appraiser Certification pages for more details.
