Enhancement Projects
The Research and Development Center (OU) provides software solutions, technology and application development capabilities for executing the IT related requirements and acts as the software development hub for producing software applications and systems. Research and Development Center (OU) implements dedicated processes and governance across projects thereby determining how a project should be managed throughout its lifecycle — from the creation of initial requirements to the management of delivery. Thus, the OU - Research and Development Center manages the overall end-to-end implementation of the life-cycle functions like Project Management, Requirements Management, Design, Coding, Testing leading to implementation. When it comes to critical resources — whether people, equipment, software — that have to be shared across projects, the Research and Development Center (OU) ensures their availability and sees to it that resource specifications are met for each and every project. The customers for Research and Development Center (OU) are external customers belonging to domains that cut across defence, FMCG, education, amongst others. Life-cycle followed across the projects is Waterfall. The software solutions produced by Research and Development Center (OU) involve advanced analytics, big data and artificial intelligence technologies. Research and Development Center (OU) executes work that involves both greenfield development and enhancement projects.
Type of Work: Research and Development Center executes two types of project work that leads to some differences in the application of processes. The two types of project work involve: a) Greenfield Development b) Enhancement
Greenfield Projects: Greenfield Projects involve development of new systems, software solutions and applications.
Enhancement Projects: Enhancement Projects involve upgrade and enhancement to existing software applications and solutions. The upgrade and enhancement often involve a significant amount of change to an existing software application, system or solution.
