OU Project
TRAIN provides an automated solution for requesting all training and conference funding services within Acuity. It serves as a transparent, centralized place for documenting and recording all requests and training data. The development and launch of TRAIN falls under corporate goal: “Enhance Acuity’s infrastructure in line with projected growth needs.”The data gathered and analyzed through TRAIN supports two additional corporate goals by providing insights and trend analysis: “Enhance Acuity’s technical offerings and partnerships,” and “Enhance Acuity’s ability to identify, recruit, and retain talented professionals.” All 320+ employees have access and utilize the TRAIN platform via MS Power Platform to request training services through pre-paid or expense reimbursement options.

Acuity has seen significant growth over its 20-year history and recently invested in a Technology Solutions Group (TSG) to continue to redefine its capabilities and services offered to Government customers. The TSG identifiedthe following strategic goals to support Acuity’s growth trajectory. ▪Increase workforce engagement and knowledge sharing ▪Attract, train,and retain top technical talent ▪Win new workthrough sound technical solutions and delivery To support these goals, the TSG established an Innovation Lab to provide Acuity employees access to the latest software solutions aligned with Acuity’s strategic technology partnerships (e.g., Microsoft, ServiceNow, AWS) in addition to emerging technologies and tools in our industry.

Icon Application Development
OU Project
“Icon” is a corporate-wide recognition program for acknowledging Acuity employees and technologists who contribute to company growth by standing out as good corporate citizens, focusing on professional development and superior client delivery. We gamify the Icon Recognition Program using Paylocity Impressions as the administrative tool and apply respective weights (via points) for employee contributions throughout the calendar year. This project is focused on automating Icon administration by creating multiple applications which interact with one another (e.g.,leaderboard, activity tracking and verification, and updating certifications) leveraging core technology platforms (AWS + React.js, Microsoft, and ServiceNow). There are three solutions that will be developed under this project: ▪Enhanced Icon Leaderboard: Expand upon the existing Icon Leaderboard for improved user experience, process automation and enhanced features. ▪Icon Recognition Approval System: Centralize Icon activity tracking, approvals, and point awards by providing easier access to data and improved interfaces for Acuity Employees and Program Administrators. ▪Certification Portal: Certification self-reporting portal, issue tracking, routing, notification, and processing.
