SPEAKER PRESENTATION

Foundations for Performance Improvement

Conference Track: Performance Management

A key factor of CMMI v2.x is the recognition that the benefits of CMMI best practices can be demonstrated through performance improvement. At the Capability Counts Conference in 2019, there was discussion around how these benefits might be demonstrated through the Performance Report and other appraisal outputs. One Government Contractor decided to utilize its existing ISO 9001 scheduled functional audit of its service delivery function to establish a baseline against which to demonstrate performance improvement. This presentation reviews the baseline assessment, plans, and performance improvements achieved over the period between the internal audit and the CMMI appraisal.

Integrating Foundational Standards in Service Delivery

Conference Track: Methodology Integration

In addition to CMMI practices, other foundational standards also offer resources to guide improvement in order to elevate and optimize performance. In this presentation, we will examine how one company utilized ISO 9000 and ISO 20000 to on its road to a successful CMMI v1.3 appraisal for Services. With that context, we will look at how this company integrates ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 20000-1, ISO 27001, the PMBoKTM, ITILĀ®, and CMMI v2.x into an integrated performance improvement approach to service delivery excellence in the Government contractor space.
