The Medical Device Discovery Appraisal Program (MDDAP) Concepts Course will prepare learners to participate on an MDDAP appraisal. The course covers topics from why CMMI was chosen for the Voluntary Improvement Program (VIP) to how to conduct the appraisal and report results. Learners will complete this course feeling prepared to be on their first MDDAP appraisal and ready to schedule their observation.

This course is composed of interactive, self-paced online modules. The format of the course requires that students actively participate throughout its duration.
Course Prerequisites:
- Approved application to become an MDDAP ATM.
- Completion of the Building Organizational Capability Course and passing score on the CMMI Practitioner Exam. This allows the student to participate on appraisals encompassing all CMMI domains.
Assessment Details
- The Medical Device Discovery Appraisal Program (MDDAP) Concepts Course Retake Assessment is required (through this separate purchase) when a student fails the their last assessment attempt.
- Students have 3 total attempts to pass the course assessment.
- Attempt 1: Taking the assessment provided in the course
- Attempt 2 (Retake 1): Individuals must wait at least 30 days from the date of their first attempt.
- Attempt 3 (Retake 2): Individuals must wait at least 90 days after the date of their second attempt.
- Retake Assessments must be purchased separately from the course. Details will be provided via email upon course completion.
- Students who fail the third attempt are at risk of being ineligible to move forward as an MDDAP ATM.
