About
Dr. Gallagher is Senior Vice President of Operational Excellence for CACI International Inc, a $4 billion information systems solutions and services company. In this role, he is responsible for CACI’s integrated program management and delivery methods, process effectiveness, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Previously, Brian was the Director of Engineering and Mission Assurance for Northrop Grumman’s Intelligence and Cyber Divisions and served as a Director at the Software Engineering Institute leading teams serving the Department of Defense and other government agencies. Brian is a retired Air Force Officer and received his PhD from Colorado State University.

Conference Track: Business Performance with CMMI: The Bottom Line
The presenters in this session will describe their experiences transitioning from CMMI V1.3 to CMMI V2.0 for both Development and Services. Specifically, they will cover how the increased focus on performance over compliance aligned with business objectives helped their organization use CMMI V2.0 as a competitive advantage. The presenters will discuss new concepts in V2.0 and some of the challenges associated with preparing for a combined CMMI V2.0 for Development and Services appraisal.

CMMI for Services provides organizations guidance for managing and improving services they deliver to both internal and external customers. The application of CMMI v1.3 and v2.0 works especially well when applying to IT Service Management (ITSM) programs. This presentation will describe the application of CMMI, and specifically CMMI v2.0 to non-IT managed services programs. Examples such as investigation services and maintenance services of non-IT systems will be discussed along with benefits and challenges of applying CMMI v2.0 to non-IT managed service delivery and improvement.
