About
Lynda Scanlan, CPA, CISSP, CISA, is an IT Audit Director at the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) of Richmond. She leads an IT audit team that is responsible for high risk and highly complex IT audit engagements. Lynda is a graduate of the University of Richmond, Master of Business Administration degree; graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University - Information Systems major and post-baccalaureate certification program in Accounting. Prior to joining the Bank in November 2003, Lynda was the IT Director for a large Richmond-based company, wherein her duties included management of IT operations, applications and networks. Lynda facilitated a Carnegie Melon Management Institute (CMMI) Data Management Maturity (DMM) Model assessment for FRB Dallas, as part of CMMI’s Enterprise Data Management Expert (EDME) educational track, in order to satisfy the requirements for her EDME certification.

Conference Track: Managing Your Data for Peak Performance
This presentation will review our journey of a data management assessment process that was performed to help build business line data management capabilities and foster a culture treating data as a strategic asset. A baseline data management maturity assessment is an important tool in our world where data accuracy, availability and accessibility are integral parts of our strategic business initiatives, especially with the explosion of complex analytics and Artificial Intelligence trends. Our execution of the assessment process was intended to validate inherent strengths, discover gaps and opportunities, and support continuous improvement.
