About
Rob has been working in quality assurance for over 18 years focusing primarily on the implementation and assessment of the CMMI-DEV, Maturity Level 3 practices. He has assisted numerous Federal agencies and contractors in validating and improving their process implementation and presently works with CACI International Inc. leading quality assurance and continuous process improvement for a large SAP-based project for the USDA. Rob worked with the internal CACI assessment team to implement the organization’s first CMMI V2.0 rating. He and his wife, Donna, live in Reston and have 3 grown daughters and two grandchildren. Rob loves to bike along the Washington & Old Dominion trail to work.

Conference Track: Tutorial
Beginning with the description of an historical and embarrassing failure in the history of NASA’s exploration of Mars, caused primarily by insufficient Peer Review implementation, Rob Stites will introduce attendees to the principles, practice, preparation, and power of the peer review process. Real data from process improvement examples of the power of peer review will be illustrated for both small and large projects. The presentation will conclude with the presenter’s lessons learned, best practices, and tool recommendations for effective peer reviews based on the presenter’s 18 years of experience with guiding CMMI Maturity Level 3 projects.
