About
Carol Dekkers is the founder of Quality Plus Technologies, Inc. and is a management consultant who works with clients who want to maximize their success using software metrics, project management, project estimation and leadership. Carol is a noted international consultant in software metrics and has represented the U.S. to ISO software engineering standards for over 20 years. She co-authored two textbooks: "The IT Measurement Compendium: Estimating & Benchmarking Success with Functional Size Measurement"; and "Program Management Toolkit for Software & Systems Development"; and contributed to a dozen more. Currently she also serves as the Director of Communications and Marketing for IFPUG.

Conference Track: Manage Your data for Peak Performance
Data plays a central role in modern approaches to data management and governance – such as CMMI Institute's DMM (Data Management Maturity Model) or DAMA's DMBOK2 (Data Management Body of Knowledge). But processes are equally important, and correctly balancing data and processes is key. Data loses meaning without process(es) and a process cannot be independent of its related data. This presentation will describe how to improve this alignment through productive collaboration among data owners and process owners and will discuss the proper usage of well-proven functional size measurement methods, such as IFPUG FPA (Function Point Analysis), based on a logical, user-based view on processes and data.
