DPAM is an assessment methodology that focuses on maturity and agility of practices utilized by a development project. Based on CMMI, DPAM also addresses agile practices enabling the assessment of diverse set of software projects. The review, although has an agile, informal style, provides structured feedback supported by evidence on the status of project practices and possible improvement areas to various stakeholders. DPAM has been piloted in different projects from different countries and our experience has shown that it is a solid project review methodology with minimum disturbance to the teams. This paper presents the rationale behind DPAM, details of its structure and our experience.
