SPEAKER PRESENTATION

Policies: The Foundation for NIST 800-171 and CMMC 1.0

Conference Track: Sponsor Spotlight

With the recent release of CMMC 1.0, increasing DCMA audits and ever increasing threats from malicious entities threatening DIB’s, cybersecurity hygiene is more important than ever before. Many companies fail to understand the importance and function that a policy can have on a business. Developing an effective policy can help you meet regulatory compliance requirements from the DoD and this session will go through some of the key differences between the NIST 800-171/DFARS 7012 requirements and the newly released CMMC 1.0 model. CMMC takes the maturity model and requires policies for levels 2 and beyond, meaning without a robust written policy your business might lose the “license” to bid on new DoD contracts and sub-contracts.
